IN LIFE SOMETIMES YOU MEET STRANGERS THAT EVENTUALLY BY FATE BECOME FAMILY.
Cam is a classically trained mechanical design engineer who grew up in Los Angeles. Cam draws his fashion inspiration from his love of surf and skate culture with a mix of vintage looks he acquired from wearing his father’s old garments like Armani trousers from the 80’s and his mother’s University sweater from the 80’s. While dating his girlfriend, Caroline (Matt’s sister-in-law), Cam finally started exploring his own fashion sense and developed a deep appreciation and love for fashion. Cam’s favorite aspect of clothing is creating interesting and timeless silhouettes. Caroline opened Cam’s eyes to a hunger for creativity that he felt stunted in by his career choices. For a long time, Cam felt stuck with the lack of creative outlet in his life… until he met Matt.
Matt started his career in fashion in 2015 with the creation of his initial brand Live Full Die Empty. A streetwear brand which was built around the idea of living life to the fullest and leaving no stone unturned. It eventually grew a cult following through social media, allowing Matt to collaborate with some of the biggest brands in the industry including NIKE with whom he put out a shoe with in 2019. While building LFDE Matt stumbled upon some family history that made him finally comprehend why he was so enamored with design and fashion. His great grandfather was one of the largest importers of Italian fabrics and designed custom suits with incredible detail. While Matt did pay special attention to the fabrics and overall quality of his work with Live Full Die Empty. He always dreamed of starting a brand solely focused on such, while also being able to bring back some of the high end garments inspired by his grandfather with a modern twist.
Cam and Matt met through their respective partners who are sisters and instantly clicked. Together, they bonded over family, sports, and of course, golf. Given both their love of fashion and shared passion for golf an idea was born. When Matt was telling his family about their joint brand idea and explaining the intricate relationship between Cam's Chinese background and Matt’s Peruvian background, they said it was fate that they had met. Thus, with Cam’s last name, Kao, and Matt’s last name, Peck, Kindred Prophecy was born. A story of fated brotherhood that was meant to be.

“Making a successful luxury brand in nine years is genius. It’s a feat that I admire and hope to continue building upon with a rich legacy. He revolutionised streetwear and luxury that crosses generations and decades. He showed the world that the underrepresented, the underdogs and Black people, in particular, have brilliant minds and can push and compete equally in the establishment. He inspired hope and brought about change.” - Ibrahim Kamara, Art&Image Director Off-White™
